Virtual Reality Based Solution for Improved Patient Understanding and Preparation for Surgery: Enhancing Quality Care and Reducing Stress Levels at a Surgical Group Practice

Challenges

A surgical group practice whose doctors aim to provide the best quality surgical care to local and international patients. However, before surgeries, the doctors have observed that the stress level of patients increases as they are often unaware of the process and after effects of the surgeries. This was leading to a high number of patients opting out of surgery, as they were not prepared for the procedure.

Solutions

To address this challenge, Digital Agents Interactive implemented a virtual reality (VR) based solution that allowed patients to understand the entire procedure of the surgery by going through a virtual surgery. The solution was deployed on an untethered VR device, which was provided to patients in the rooms before their surgery date.

Result

This was a major achievement for the Surgical Group, as it allowed them to provide better care to their patients and ensure that they were prepared for the surgery
