Challenges

An American chain of membership-only retail warehouse club has hundreds of standard operating procedures (SOPs) that its employees have to remember, making training sessions a crucial part of their work. However, each training session is a significant cost, as trainers have to fly to the location to train a group of employees. This leads to a lot of wasted time, as employees are kept on hold for their training sessions. This club wanted to experiment with VR-based training to reduce these costs and improve the efficiency of their training process.

Solutions

To address these challenges, Digital Agents Interactive built a training platform where employees could perform end-to-end operations of their SOPs virtually. The platform was accessible via the web and VR, allowing employees to access the training material anytime and anywhere. The VR component allowed employees to experience hands-on training, replicating the real-life experience of working with the SOPs.

The training platform was built on the principles of AI-based bot-led training, which replicated the instructor-led training that employees were used to. This allowed them to relate to the training and made the transition to the new platform easier.

Result

This was a major success for the club, as it allowed them to reduce the costs of their training program and improve the efficiency of their training process.
